Ride miles of forest routes
It's easy to explore the land of four rivers by ATV. You can ride from the front door of many Rusk County lodging properties into the far reaches of the area's backcountry, and you can find trails close to Ladysmith. ATV road routes are located throughout the county, allowing riders to travel from one community to another and access key trailheads. The county's bridges offer beautiful river views. Rusk County's logging roads provide miles of riding adventure -- 80,000 acres of county forest land are open to ATV use, with the exception of a few restricted areas. ATV trails and county forest lands are open to ATVs from the Friday of Memorial Day weekend until December 31 (or when snowmobile trail grooming starts).
The Blue Hills area provides outstanding scenic riding on a 32-mile developed trail in the Blue Hills area. The trailhead is located 12 miles north of Weyerhaeuser off County Highway F on North Bucks Lake Road.
County forest lands are open to ATV traffic, with the exception of a few restricted areas. County forest land cannot be utilized by ATVs until after the spring thaw period, which ends on the Thursday before Memorial Day of each year.
